14. Team Charter
14.1. Purpose
The purpose of forming this team is to create a website and mobile application for an existing hotel in Kasagpan. The anticipated outcomes are to implement the standards that we were given by our stakeholder. As a team, we are prepared to work hard and communicate well with our stakeholder to achieve the best result for this project according to their desires. This project will allow us to apply and practice what we have already learned from our first years of college.
14.2. Background
The project we are supporting is for a hotel located in the Philippines and we will be building a mobile application and website for them, as they will be our stakeholders. Our team fits into the organizational structure by keeping up to date on team meetings and completing everything within our planned timeframe. This application will mainly be used by the customers who wish to book a room in the hotel. A circumstance surrounding this project is to make sure it is completed by March 31, 2017, in order to satisfy our stakeholders and weaken the risk of our project being declined.
14.3. Scope
The scope of this project to make sure we complete each task on time and in the correct order identical to our Gantt chart because each task is reliant on the previous task. Our mission is to make sure our client is satisfied with the overall application and to solve any problems from the application. Our objectives for completion of this project is to make sure we first clearly understand the stakeholders’ requirements and to incorporate it into the website and mobile application. The high-level goals our team must execute it to make sure that the clients who use the application must be able to manage their reservations, we will also make sure that the application can verify the payment details. As a team, we will achieve this by working together and asking questions when needed.
14.4. Team Composition
The functional area represented is from programming and analysis sector, and we have three members in total that will contribute in completing this project. All members are essential members of the team because we will be assigning the tasks equally amongst our group in order to keep the workload fair. Also, we have a program coordinator who will answer our questions and guide/advise us in our steps to complete this project. We anticipate that half of our project will be done by December 2016, and the whole project should be finished by March 2017. As a team, we are all committed to working hard with the aim of finishing all tasks on the days they are due.
14.5. Team Empowerment
The authority we have is from our stakeholder and program coordinator. They hold the authority to re-evaluate our project at any given time. Our team’s dedication to complete the project is in our entire best. We aim to implement and establish trust with our client as they have given us the opportunity to take on this project. We do not need additional authority for our project, as our stakeholder and program coordinator are the only ones we need. The empowerment we need should be established in the team. As a team, we should empower each other to try our best and aide when one team member is struggling with a task they have been assigned with.
14.6. Team Operations
Our main team operational plan is to make sure we work together and ask for help when faced with a problem. In terms of decisions, we must run it by the stakeholder if felt necessary to do so. Otherwise, we are open to new fresh ideas within our team and will not discourage one another. If changes were to occur, we will divide the work evenly to make up for the other team members lack of contribution. We hope to maintain a professional relationship between our client and other team members.
14.7. Team Performance Assessment
As a team, we must maintain on schedule to execute the published project by March 2017. Team success will be measured based on our ability to work together to accomplish tasks. Also, we must help one another when faced with problems and teach each other skills we may need to develop more. Our progress will be measured on a weekly basis to ensure we are up to date and going according to schedule. Our stakeholder and program coordinator will also help us achieve our project goals by giving us feedback or assist us when we are faced with problems.
